Management Tips for Small Businesses

As an entrepreneur, do you get a little confused when people start interviewing you on “business management”? Not surprising, since it’s probably based on the belief that the word “management” is more suited to big business and multinational conglomerates. From one perspective that might be true, but from the perspective that you want your business to grow, thrive and be successful, then it is the wrong approach.

Efficient business management is the foundation of a successful business. In simpler terms, small business management is a mix of many things: that is, the juggling of many hats like advertising, marketing, administration, HR and sales. If any one of these elements if managed incorrectly or with a lazy approach, then it can, in fact, make or break a small business. It is therefore extremely important to draft and execute governing policies—yes, even if you are the only individual—very carefully.

Chi Philosophy and Importance of Herbs

Chinese traditional medicine is based on the “chi” philosophy and relies heavily on the use of herbs. “Chi” is the life force energy running through every living organism’s body, and an imbalance in this life force energy is believed to be the cause of physical and mental ailments. Chinese medicine experts believe good health is a reflection of the balance of yin and yang (masculine and feminine energies) in the chi as well as the chi’s temperature, which is recommended to be moderate (i.e., neither too hot nor too cold).

Herbs and Their Impact
Every Chinese herb affects our chi in a certain way. While some herbs help in cooling the chi, others tend to make it warmer. Chinese medicine experts generally prescribe herbs based on the condition of the chi. If the chi is too hot, it manifests into diseases like kidney stones, obesity, gall bladder diseases, skin ailments, auto immune diseases, multiple sclerosis, etc. Therefore, cooling herbs such as forsythia, licorice, gardenia and peony are prescribed to people suffering from such diseases.

Health and the Law of Attraction

Can the law of attraction help you heal and restore your natural state of health and well being? The answer is definitely “Yes.” Well, that is as long you believe in the power of your own mind and you know the basic principles of how to attract good health.

Law of Attraction
The Law Of Attraction (LOA) simply states that you can attract whatever you want into your life by focusing on it with your entire being. This means if you focus on healing yourself and staying healthy with your actions and thoughts (both conscious and subconscious), you can feel healthy again.

The key to truly invoking the principles of LOA is action, and as far as actions are concerned you need to take conscious steps in order to stay healthy. For instance, just thinking about becoming a healthy weight won’t do you any good if you continue to gorge on junk food…

Be Set Free Fast: Emotional Release Technique

One element of why I love what I do is because I am introduced to all sorts of healing modalities. Some are easily implemented into an individual’s life, while others remain dependent on the support of practitioners. I’d like to share with you one which starts off requiring the support of a practitioner mainly for necessity of “training” you to be comfortable with the set-up procedure but is then easily taken home and implemented whenever you may feel the need to removing any new blocks that present themselves.

The modality is called Be Set Free Fast. It was created by Dr. Larry Nims, Ph.D. Dr. Nims was one of the first professionals to be trained in Thought Field Therapy back in the early 1990s. Since then he has refined this approach and created his own program, Be Set Free Fast (BSFF). BSFF is an alternative healing technique that involves healing one’s emotional blocks to support the releasing of physical ailments. According to the BSFF philosophy, our subconscious mind can be programmed to aid in our healing if we send across the right suggestion to it. Obviously, the basis of the philosophy is that the human mind is powerful enough to heal all the ailments that affect our bodies. BSFF can in fact also be used to work on emotional as well self-development issues.

Bloating: A Woman’s Fashion Sense Enemy

Standing in front of your clothes closet and trying to figure out what to wear can be more challenging than most people admit when they feel bloated and uncomfortable. This is not unique to when we are moving through the energy of the moon phases or menstruation. It also happens if we are not regular with our eating habits or exercise routines. Most often we translate the bloating into feeling and looking fat despite the fact we may not be overweight. Such is completely exasperating when it comes to dressing or choosing what to wear.

While most of us know how to get rid of the extra flab, getting rid of that bloated look is a different matter all together. Occasional bloating can be the result of fluid or air retention. Chronic bloating, however, can be a red flag or a symptom of a serious disease. If you feel bloated occasionally or are frustrated because you just can’t wear those fitted dresses because of your bloated stomach, then here are few remedies that may come in handy.

Sales: Planning Your Success

Sales arguably are the most important function of any business, but despite years of research it continues to remain an enigma. There is no denying the fact that no one knows a foolproof formula that can make a sales team deliver 10/10 results. However, this doesn’t mean that a sales plan’s success is based on pure chance. A successful sales person in fact tries his best to leave very little to chance by making sure that they bring down the probability of failure to a minimum.

Avoid Common Mistakes: Increase Success

The best way to achieve success is to eliminate mistakes that can lead to failure. For a salesperson this means making sure they reduce the chances of falling into one of the following.

CranioSacral Therapy Explained

Over 100 years ago Dr. William Sutherland made an amazing discovery regarding the existence of subtle breathing motions of every living tissue in our body. According to Sutherland, these motions were produced by the life force that exists in every living organism’s body; he called this life force “The breath of Life.” The spinal fluid is believed to carry this breath of life within and around the central nervous system.

A few decades later Dr. John Upledger used these findings to develop what is today called CranioSacral Therapy (CST).

According to the generally accepted CST philosophy, stress, traumatic events and physical injuries create blockages, preventing the fee flow of the spinal fluid. This in turn has a direct impact on our natural health and well-being.

Intuition and Body Talk

Can our body really talk? Can it actually react intuitively to situations and people? The answer is yes! All you need to do is pay close attention and you will be able to hear and interpret the subtle language of your body’s signals and signs while learning its unique language.

How to Listen to Your Body
Awareness, faith and practice are what you need to understand the intuitive guidance of your physical body. Our bodies react to the energies around us, and if you pay close attention you will notice your body feels relaxed when you are surrounded by natural beauty. People often tend to feel calm and at peace when they visit a place of worship. Similarly, places with negative energy—for instance, an old prison, fort or castle rooms that have been witness to torture or murder—tend to create feelings of discomfort in our body.

Faith and Spiritual Journeys

How would you define your faith? Is it unshakable, or is it driven by your circumstances? Do you trust God or believe in the existence of a universal power—but only as long as life favors you? Or do you find yourself questioning your faith the moment you feel your good karma, prayers or positive attitude weren’t rewarded? Your answers to these questions will help you understand yourself and the path of your spiritual journey.

From the moment we are born we start receiving messages about the two-way relationship between effort and reward. The conditioning starts with a baby’s first steps and generally continues until the time an adult reaches the end of his life cycle, with everything in life governed by rewards whether they be material or emotional.

Thought About Going Into Business?

There are those who are just born to be in business for themselves. And out of those, some are easily able to jump right into being entrepreneurs. Then there are those who struggle since they are not even sure of what to do first or when or can’t even come up with an idea for business.

During the early stages of Therapy in Transition, I had ventured out in the direction of making my own skin care products –organic and natural skin cream made right in my own kitchen. The final product turned out to be great and people raved about it and swore they wouldn’t use anything else. But nowhere on our site do you see these products being sold. Why? This just wasn’t my gig. Yes, I enjoyed making the cream. But my passion was in my coaching and energy/body work. Dividing my time and energy was taking its toll—and fast!

Career Success Depends on Knowing Your Learning Style

Knowledge = Savings
Knowing how best you learn can support your overall success in life. Not sure how accurate of a statement this is? Well, consider when you are trying to learn something at work. Depending on how it is being taught to you, the learning curve could be minutes, hours or days and even weeks. Translate this into a dollar figure. From a company perspective, if you are one of the few who learns in a manner in which the material is taught results in you learning quickly, the company recognizes this as a potential cost savings and provides you with further training. This results in increased chances of advancement over those who perhaps learn through a different approach than what is used.

Processing = Advancement
All of us have different ways of processing information. By understanding what information transmission mechanism works best for us and our children, we can boost our professional performance and our children’s’ academic performance.
