Healing Through Reiki

Reiki is one of the most important healing techniques we employ at Therapy in Transition. On the surface Reiki may seem like a strange therapy because it appears to promote healing when the practitioner simply places her hands over the person’s body. In truth, however, there’s much more to Reiki than what you “see.”

Origin of Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese word that comes from the terms rei, which means “universal,” and ki, which means “life energy.” All of us are nothing but energy in metaphysical terms because energy flows from top to bottom and nourishes all of the human body’s cells and organs. Reiki practitioners are aware that negative feelings and thoughts are responsible for disruptions in this energy flow, which manifests in the human body as mental and/or physical ailments. Reiki removes these disruptions, thereby healing a person who receives treatments.
