Perfect Moment Monday: A Husband’s Insight

My Perfect Moment for this week relates to being grateful for my husband. As a business owner, mom and wife, there are many things that weigh on our minds. At times it is easy to allow self-doubt to drain us, to divert our attention from the main reason why we make certain decisions.

The story begins when I was wide awake early one morning and my husband’s alarm clock went off. He asked why was I awake, and I said that I had been up with our son about an hour ago and couldn’t fall back to sleep. He immediately asked me what was I thinking about, and when I shared with him my over thinking a business situation, his response was, “I’d rather you be sleeping than worrying about that. No sleep and you’ll be no good to anyone!

Vince Lombardi

I enjoy quite a few activities and was active as a child and teenage with sports such as baseball, track, figure skating and volleyball, to name a few. I was definitely a tom boy, as they say. In college when completing my degree in Health and Fitness, it was part of our academic requirement to learn the rules and social impact of all the major sports in both Canada and the United States. In one of my anatomy classes, I choose to write a paper on the instances of neck injuries leading to paralysis or partial paralysis in the game of football. It was in my research for this paper I was introduced to a very inspirational man I and most sports enthusiast know: Vince Lombardi.

This month I wanted to share with you a brief introduction to a man who definitely walks his talk. Zig Ziglar is one of those individuals whom if you ever needed an individual to keep you motivated for owning your truth while embracing all life has to offer, then he is one you want to keep on your motivational radar. From a sales expert to a popular self-help and motivational author, Ziglar has had one incredible journey. Ziglar is a born-again Christian and places immense faith in God. His belief in Christianity is strongly reflected in most of his works.
