Banishing Victim Mentality


The first and most important step toward healing is to acknowledge that you possess a victim mentality and that it causes problems in your life. And as you might expect, often the most difficult part of this process is admitting to yourself that your problems might be, at least in part, your own creation. However, once you’re able to admit this, you’re in a prime position to begin working on adjusting your attitude – which, of course, will lead you to a better and more fulfilling life.

Often it is our past experiences that are deeply buried in the recesses of our subconscious that causes us to develop a habit of feeling victimized and shifting blame. If the bulk of your childhood memories are about facing neglect or feeling unloved, it can lead to a general feeling in adulthood that fate is poised against you or that everyone is out to get you…
